Made in Portland, Oregon, USA
Making a film in Portland, Oregon is a wonderful experience. The large number of talented - and unemployed! - people in Portland ensures an easy time casting and hiring crew. All of the crew, except Seattle composer Nan Avant, were from Portland. The cast, except Seattle actresses Carmela Ramaglia and Natasha Sims, were from Portland.
The wide variety of photogenic locations in and around the Portland area makes it easy to create the illusion of varied locales as well. The feature film Unremembered includes the following locations in Oregon:
- Portland State University for the classroom scene and Tina's office (yes, that is a real instructor's office!)
- Portland Community College and the Portland Public Library for John's research scenes
- Byways Cafe for the diner scene with Tina and John
- the waterfront, Pioneer Mall, and the Max light rail for Penelope flashbacks
- the rugged Oregon coast for John's lost day at the ocean
- the Deschutes River Boxcar Rapids near Maupin, Oregon for the rafting scene with John and Anthony
- the many homes and offices used in the other scenes, all generously and freely provided by Portland residents
